Inside / Outside House

The project began with addressing the families love of nature and lake life.   Hence, the INSIDE/OUTSIDE concept was born beginning with the heart of the house, a great room which includes living, dining and kitchen spaces.  The front and back walls are mirror images of each other, each one a wall of custom glass and doors  (Low-e and Zo-e insulated glass). Thereby, from any point in this great living space, one has sweeping views of the lake on one side as well as the pine grove on the other, providing the INSIDE/OUTSIDE experience. The materials are Rustic: Cedar siding, pine tongue and groove ceilings and plank floors on the main level, douglas fir beams, and alder cabinetry. The color palette is inspired by Tablerock Lake, the Ozarks hills, and limestone cliffs: warm tans and browns, greens and pops of blue to pick up on the water and sky. The combination of rustic, modern and vintage elements with consistency of the color palette are the unifying elements of design reflected in the furnishing, fabrics, hard surfaces, hardware, lighting and art choices. The home has four bedrooms, three fireplaces, three and half baths, an office, game room, screened-in porch and expansive decks for outdoor entertaining, each with a rustic yet unique personality of its own. Because of the open floor plan, the kitchen presented a design challenge; a horseshoe shaped island with a total of 34’ of counter space and efficient storage, a walk-in pantry, and built-in cabinetry in the dining room for glassware provided ample storage for the kitchen and dining rooms. Overall, this Vintage/Modern/Rustic…INSIDE/OUTSIDE Lake House provides a joyous experience for its owners and their family and friends.
